Current Position/Role: Case Manager in the Social Work Department
How long have you been with HDS? Two and a half years.
What is the best part about your job? Working with the interdisciplinary team and meeting so many interesting and resilient patients. I also really like giving patients their discharge notices because it usually makes them very happy! I’ve even had patients take pictures of it.
Any advice for someone coming into your line of work? It helps to be organized, flexible, and able to multi-task. I also find communication is the key, since we are the point of contact for patients, families, community resources, and the interdisciplinary team.
What are your hobbies/interests? I’m just learning how to quilt and I’m a bit addicted. I also like cooking/baking, and I volunteer at my church with the worship/media team.
If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go? Japan, China or Thailand
What is your favourite movie? I could watch Armageddon over and over and over again! I can even recite some of the lines J
If you could have one super power, what would it be & why? I would be able to teleport myself, so I’m not 10-15 minutes late for everything.
If you were stuck on an island what three things would you bring? Chapstick, my husband and a People Magazine.
