As the only rehabilitation hospital in the Niagara Region, Hotel Dieu Shaver Health and Rehabilitation Centre provides specialized post-acute hospital care and exceptional clinical outcomes to thousands of Niagara residents through rehabilitation and complex care programs.

With 134 inpatient beds and innovative outpatient programs, HDS serves over 1,200 inpatients and 40,000 outpatients annually.

We are proud to provide leading rehabilitation services, through skilled and talented staff and state-of-the-art equipment.

Our team is driven by a mission to restore health, rebuild lives, and renew hope by providing the highest quality of compassionate care to every patient that enters our hospital.


To complement the existing Board of Trustees’ background, we are seeking volunteers who have demonstrated community leadership, have an interest in governance and share the passion of Hotel Dieu Shaver’s mission, vision and values.

We are particularly interested in hearing from you if you bring knowledge and experience in one or more of the following areas:

  • Accounting/Finance/Business
  • Public Relations/Communications
  • Strategic Planning
  • Health Care Administration
  • Health Care Clinical
  • Previous Board Experience
  • Government Relations
  • Fluency in French Language
