Dr. Galina Arvinte Appointed Hotel Dieu Shaver's Chief of Staff

After a professional search, Dr. Galina Arvinte has been appointed Chief of Staff for Hotel Dieu Shaver, receiving unanimous endorsement by both the Chief of Staff Selection Committee and Hotel Dieu Shaver’s Board of Trustees. The appointment takes effect immediately.

Since May of 2022, with the passing of long time and highly regarded Chief of Staff Dr. Jack Luce, Dr. Arvinte assumed the role of Interim Chief of Staff, skillfully providing continuity, vision, strong leadership and passion in maintaining and advancing the role of Chief of Staff at Hotel Dieu Shaver.

Dr. Arvinte, a long-time Niagara resident, has been a physician for 35 years, and has been actively engaged as an attending physician at Hotel Dieu Shaver since 2002. As a mentor and a leader, Dr. Arvinte was elected by her medical colleagues as President of the Medical Staff Association in early 2021. With a particular focus on meeting the needs of palliative patients, Dr. Arvinte has earned the respect of her colleagues, the staff, her patients and their families, and the Board of Trustees, providing exemplary holistic care and living the mission and values of Hotel Dieu Shaver.

As Chief of Staff, Dr. Arvinte oversees medical quality of care through Hotel Dieu Shaver’s Medical Advisory Committee, assists the Hospital as lead physician through active participation on the Senior Management team and numerous quality-based committees, continues to serve as attending physician and on call, and acts as an ex officio Trustee on the Hospital’s Board.
